Friday Photo Flashback

It was 2008 when we first visited Last Vegas. Jake was still 4 months old during that time. He was a happy and good traveler then, and he still is until now.

Year 2009 Jake and I went back to Las Vegas again for a week vacation during winter. He was 11 months old during that time.

Jake is three years now and we just spent a week vacation in Las Vegas. We came home couple of days ago. Like I said he was a good traveler, he did not make any trouble at all. He made a fuss for few second it's because of this little girl who doesn't like being in place with too much crowds like plane. Anyway, this year's vacation to Last Vegas was Justine's first trip to that state.

This picture was taken last 2008.

While this family picture was taken just recently - 2011

Watching the grandkids

Guest post written by Marie Carter

I’m not as luck as some grandparents that live down the street or even just a few minutes away from their grandkids. I live across the United States from mine.

But my son and daughter-in-law came into town a few weeks ago for his 15th year high school reunion, so I obliged them and watched the kids while they were catching up with old friends and classmates.

I couldn’t find a TV show to quite suit both Kimberly and Kelly’s taste so I popped in an old copy of “The Little Mermaid” that I happened to find and turned the volume up so they could hear it. That’s when Kelly put her hands over her ears and said “Grandma, it’s too loud!” I was surprised by this and turned the volume down so it wasn’t so loud. But I didn’t think it was very loud and had trouble hearing it after I turned the volume down.

So after my son’s family left I searched for miracle ear locations and read up on some invisible hearing aids so next time I wouldn’t have to worry about damaging my grandkids’ hearing with Disney princesses.

Weekend Family Visit and Blue Monday

Well, obviously the number 3 block is blue, what else are blue in the pictures? Hop on over to Smiling Sally @ http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/ for more Blue Monday.

Last week, my SIL with her kids Lillian and Henry drove from New York City to visit Mary in Slippery Rock. They stayed there for a week, so last weekend we went there (SR) to see them and spend time or hangout with them. Jake enjoyed spending time with his cousins and the neighbor’s kids. We do not have friends who have kids in this neighborhood yet, so Jake doesn't have friends or kids with his age to play around. Jake has less exposure being with other kids so, most of the time he gets shy being with them. It happened twice already when Jake found a playmate he doesn't want to go home. When we went to bakla Rose (Cottrill fam) in EJ birthday, Jake threw a fit as in super tantrums as soon as we open the door and got inside our house. Then, last weekend when we visited Lillian and Henry in SR he threw a fit again. Poor little guy. And Justine, when she saw them, for her they are strangers she cried like there's no tomorrow. She just wants to be with me all the time. I had to hide so she'll stop crying. I think she is having stranger anxiety and separation which is very common at her age. She cries if she sees other people aside from us, and she also cries if she is away or don't see me. Anyway, that was a fun family visit plus we got the chance to get out from hibernation in our dungeon lol.

How I Really Feel About My Family?

I took a test in this Blogthings about how I really feel about my family and this is the result. Its pretty interesting though. Try take the personality test peepz and see what they got for you.
You Feel Humbled By Your Family

You feel a bit overwhelmed by and resentful of your family right now.
This is a good moment for you to take some time away from them.

You feel like your family is prone to too many arguments and instability.
You never feel like things can be completely peaceful.

You've improved your family relationships through introspection.
You always look at your own behavior first, and you've made changes to how you act.

You get teased a lot by your family.
You usually don't mind being the butt of jokes, but sometimes you feel picked on.

So just like sheila, i am hoping to get a chance of hanging out with them next year also, hopefully, when sheila and joe plan to go to the philippines i will go as well cause its going to be an awesome vacation, hopefully everybody will be present then.

Sister's Bonding

The last time me and my sisters bonded with each other was christmas of 2005. I worked in Cebu and I usually came home during vacations and school break, but sometimes I spent it with my friends there in cebu. Before I flew here I was thinking of going home then but I got busy with stuff at school and processing my papers both for the visa and leave of absence. I'm looking forward to see my family soon if our planned vacation next year come true.

The Relatives

I really do miss my family and relatives in the philippines, i may say, we are not perfect and i don't think there's a perfect family out there, but we do have fun when we get together, we fight sometimes, there's probably a lot of arguments and competition, but we do stick with our love ones no matter what. This are our little cousins, uncle and aunties on our maternal side of the family, and i tell yah! we don't get along very often, when we we're kids, it seems like most of our aunts in this side of the family hates us, maybe some still do until now, but for me, its all under the bridge now, they are family and they always will be no matter what happened in the past. This was really a good party, kelly got drunk just hanging out with my papa's friends, man! they do drink seriously.

In memory of Our Tatay DIONISIO MAGDUGO

Our Tatay (maternal grandfather) died a couple of years ago, and i the last time i saw him was when this picture was taken during my engagement to Kelly last June of 2003. I would say, he was so strict with us when we we're younger and you know the filipino way of family tradition of having a favoritism, and i would say we we're not the favorite, no hurt feelings though. He may rest in peace in the hand of our GOD, his happy in there because there's no more worries, and stress and pain. We love tay!

I missed my two little sister WEWENG and INDAY, we really seldom see them anymore since the two of us move here in the US.
