We were supposed to by a double stroller last summer but we used the money for the bike and baby carriage. Every time we go out, we use the small stroller that we got for Jake. It's really not that easy if we go to the mall because the little man is so lazy to walk. So, we ended up carrying or let Justine walk then Jake will sit in the stroller. Then, last fall we decided to buy a wagon in which I can use when I take them to the park. The plan of buying a double stroller is totally vanished. I really do wish we use right away the money that my MIL gave to us for the double stroller.

Chef Lamb Chop's IHOP

This is not from International House of Pancake or IHOP folks, but it's Lamb chop version of ihop. I made pancake one morning for their breakfast and cut some fresh strawberries. Both the dragons already munch most of their pancakes. Then when i gave them the fruits the lamb chop stated being creative with it and put her strawberry on top of the pancake. I took a quick snap as she was about to take the strawberry again off from her pancake back to the table. In other words, she was playing with her food very creatively. LOL

When Justine was born she instantly sucked the breast milk out of my boobies. I didn't undergo a long labor with her and she came out so quickly. After the nurse weighed her and measured her height my husband handed her over to me and right then and there she asked for milk. Then, in the postpartum room I had to get up many times as the nurse kept bringing her back to my room because she was hungry. I was by myself with Justine during that couple of nights in the postpartum room. My husband had to come home because no one could watch Jake. So, Jake and my husband had to go to the hospital in the morning to bring my food and then come home in the afternoon. I had to eat plenty of food because Justine had been asking for milk constantly.

We came home after staying two days in the hospital. I would say that Justine was a good eater and she sleep through the night. As what I had read in the book if the baby have eaten good amount of food during the day they more likely to sleep through the night. It's very important to feed your baby with right amount of food so they won't fuss during the night. And remember that there is no substitute with breast milk. So, give your baby the best nutrition they need.

Life is boring if you don't have family and friends to share with. And family is not complete without little bundle of joy running around the house. Having a baby is tiring but the joy they bring into your life is priceless. You certainly miss the exciting part in life if you choose not to have baby. One thing I missed to do when I was pregnant with my two munchkins was having a baby shower. I don't have friends around here yet so i don't know whom I'm going to invite for the even and send baby shower invitations to. Anyway, all I'm saying is baby make your life wonderful and meaningful. I love being a mother to my two adorable J&J as they make my life complete.

It'a Time to Plan

I have two toddlers that are close in age. Jake is 2 and a half years old already while Justine is one year. I am a Roman Catholic but both my kids have not baptized yet. Traditionally in catholic, baptism should be done before the baby celebrate their first birthday. If we are living in the Philippines right now, I'd probably take care of this matter. The truth is I don't know anyone else in this area and I don't attend church mass anymore. My husband works in a Catholic University and he said he'll take care of. He will ask around at school about baptism. I think it's about time for us to plan for this important event but I do not know how to begin. Baptism invitations are never a problem as I can order them online. It's the church and priest that I am worried about. I don't know how this thing works here in America and I do not know anyone to ask about baptism. Anyhow, one of my Filipina friends that I met through Rose just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl yesterday. She is active in church in their area and I'm pretty sure they already plan her baby's baptism.

Making Friend

This what she looked like when she tried to make friend to this other girl she saw at the playground. This is also her new facial expressions when she makes pa cute.

Lately, we have been going out and this shy and aloof little lambchop has started to socialize. She still have strangers anxiety but not that bad. She smiles to someone she likes. My sister is visiting us right now and she will be leaving tomorrow for Vegas. Rachael and Justine become best pal right away. The little lambchop didn't cry the first time she held her eyes to my sister and hold her. I feel like I got my day off now from Justine, she wasn't bothering me for couple of days now.

We are rich we went shopping for Sofa waaa lol.

What kind of Sofa? How big? Well not that big but it was expensive that cost 35 millions hehehe I'm just kidding folks. This is Justine's new love seat A Dora the Explorer Flip-Open Sofa. When i had Jake before i already saw this kind of sofa but I can't buy him a pink dora stuff. So, when Justine arrived buying this sofa was my mission lol. We got this at Walmart yesterday for $35.00 but online it cost $37 or $45 I think.

It was the Kuya Jake who enjoyed this sofa before the real owner. And Jake wants Justine to get out of the sofa because he wants it all to himself. What a selfish Kuya. But he never shares his maracas to little sissy. That little Einstein spaceship was supposed to be for Justine but jake take control of it and doesn't wanna share it to Justine.
Anywho, Justine love her sofa, she sleep on it everyday, sit on it whole watching TV and even bounce on it. But once she is there in the sofa Jake would grab her and say UP Up meaning get up sissy because he will sit on it. And then in the aisle going to the check out counter I saw this baby swimsuit. Actually, the other day i saw Melody's daughter picture in facebook wearing this cute swimsuit. Very patriotic and perfect for 4th of July. So, im kind of gaya gaya puto maya, what can I do, the display is right on the isle and when i grabbed one it was 12 months very perfect for my little lambchop and the price is only $5. How cheap is that? hehe

My lil jelly bean just turn eight (8) months today. She is doing very well, so ahead in her age. She can now pull up herself and excited to learn how to walk. Her lover teethsis has started to come out. Justine is so attach to me that she cry if someone will hold her. She can pick up tiny things on the floor, and understand object permanence. She is getting cuter and funnier everyday. The video below was taken 2 or 3 weeks agao and in that video she was trying to sneak out to the kitchen. Very clever and sneaky lil rascal.

This video was taken the first day of the week when Joe went back to school after a week of break early week of this Month. That was the third day Jake been sleeping in a bed. We moved him to a bed before his birthday because he hate his crib already. Anyway, that first day (Monday) this two little rugrats woke me up so early like 6:00 AM. Jake got up first and went to our room and started messing up with Justine. No matter how sleepy I was i had to get up. So, when we were downstairs I tried to put Justine back to sleep in her swing. And look what this mischievous girl did.

The little guy was watching his fave cartoon while the little girl having fun swinging like a pro. She can't crawl yet when I took this video. Soon, this girl would probably yell No Nap! when she learn to speak.

That was our funny song if any of us cut farts in our simple dungeon hehe. Anyhow, since I introduced solid food and formula to our jelly bean, she can take 3 to 4 days without pooping. So, when she farts it really stinks. When we tease her she just flash her cute smile. We thought she just soil her diaper but it was just a fart. Well, stinky or not she always be our little princes and we adored her so much. Happy Weekend to ya'll!

I got this updates from baby center email for my baby at 5-month-old: Week 2. So, thought of sharing it here since I have few new mom friends online who just gave birth recently. You can also visit babycenter and sign up to get weekly update of your baby's growth and milestones.

Night feedings

Sometime between 4 and 6 months, most babies become physically able to make it through five or six hours at night without a snack. (That doesn't mean your baby is ready to night wean, however. That timing varies considerably.) If you and your baby are ready to drop night feedings, here are some good ways to start the process.

Take it slowly and gradually. Start by giving your baby less time on each breast or a smaller amount of formula or breast milk in her bottle at each night feeding. Try to prolong the intervals between feedings by patting and comforting your baby and gently urging her to go back to sleep.

Offer your child extra feedings before bed. This way, she'll be less likely to wake up hungry in the middle of the night. You may even want to wake her for a final feeding (for instance, at 10 p.m.) before you go to bed yourself.

If possible, have your partner comfort your baby when she cries during the night. Babies often come to expect food from Mom, and if you're nursing, the smell of your breast milk may make your baby want to eat. Your partner may have better luck soothing your baby back to sleep without a feeding.

My baby sucks her thumb constantly. Is this okay?

A: Thumb-sucking is a natural self-calming technique that is harmless in most cases. Your baby sucks her thumb to soothe herself when she's anxious, tired, or upset, and she may stop on her own by the time she's 1 year old. (Most children outgrow the habit by kindergarten.) However, if your baby has her thumb in her mouth much of the time, it can lead to problems. "Constant thumb-sucking can cause skin abrasions, nail problems, and dental issues," says Oded Herbsman, medical director of pediatrics at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. And if it continues, frequent thumb-sucking could slow your baby's speech development. "Your baby can't vocalize with her thumb in her mouth," says Herbsman, adding that the best strategy is to substitute a different type of comfort object. Offer a blanket or a teddy bear when your baby goes for the thumb so she learns other ways to comfort herself. Check with your doctor to see if the thumb-sucking is causing any physical problems -- and then decide whether you need to take action.

Ways in Breastfeeding in public

When Jake was 4 months old we traveled by plane to Vegas. That was our first vacation as a family of 3 and I was still breast feeding him then. Before the month of our vacay, we tried to put him on a formula or use bottle milk rather so that I don't have to nurse him if we are on the plane, but Jake was stubborn and refused to drink on a bottle so, apparently bottle feeding never work on him. Had no choice but to nurse him while we were still on the plane. I covered ourselves with his blanket, ohh boy... that was so uncomfortable for me breastfeeding in public. Different from some people or mother back home, they don't mind breastfeeding in public, such as jeepney, neighbors house or every where. Not all mothers though, only some of them especially the older ones.

You can legally breastfeed anywhere you choose, and some states have additional laws protecting a woman's right to nurse in public. It's certainly more convenient (and perhaps sanitary) not to hide in a dirty restroom or your car. Of course, that doesn't mean you'll always feel comfortable doing it. Some ways to boost your comfort level:

* Wear a two-piece outfit with a loose-fitting blouse that can be pulled up from the bottom. This allows your baby to nurse underneath your blouse and lets you avoid opening your blouse from the top and taking your breast out. Nursing tops designed with discreet slits or flaps can help boost your confidence.

* Be sure to wear a nursing bra with cup flaps you can open with one hand while you hold your baby with the other.

* Consider the color and fabric of your shirts. A light color is more likely to show leaked breast milk or breast pads, and a silk or satin top is more apt to be stained or ruined by breastfeeding. Patterned tops conceal stains best.

* Wear a shawl or use your baby's blanket to cover your breast and midriff while your baby's feeding if you want to give yourself some extra coverage.

Husband took Justine to her Pediatrician appointment, she gain 2lbs in one months and grow 1 inch and the exciting part was, she got 4 shots huhuhu ouch! She started now with her vaccines. According to husband she scream and cried so loud, as in louder than Jake when he had his first shots. What can we do, that is part of growing up baby and its good for your health hmmm plus there's more good stuff coming.

Calming a Fussy Baby

I read this information from babycenter that will help new mom or other mommy with fussy baby on how to calm them. Every mommy has their own technique or ways on how to calm their baby when they fuss and whatever that is Im sure it works to their little bundle of joy. Love, care and respond to the baby's needs is always the best to clam him/her.

Wails and waaahhs are important ways for babies to communicate. Interpreting these cries takes some trial and error. Here are some of the most common things your baby is trying to say:
"Feed me." Being hungry makes a baby unhappy. Some will continue to fuss even after they've begun feeding, so don't give up too soon if a bottle or your breast doesn't seem to be working immediately. If it's time for a feeding and your baby is making a rhythmic cry along with other hunger signs like tongue thrusting, he may need to get enough in his stomach to feel fuller before he calms down.

"Change me." Some babies don't mind being in a wet or soiled diaper. Others will object right away — and let you know.

"I don't feel well." A shrill cry can be a sign of illness. It may also be your baby's way of letting you know that something is poking him, such as a scratchy clothing tag. Check to see that your baby isn't too hot or too cold. A good rule of thumb is to dress a baby in one more layer than you're wearing yourself, and remove a layer if he feels warm or seems to complain.

"Get me out of here." If a room is too noisy, the lights too bright, or too many people are handling your baby, he may react to the overstimulation by looking away and fretting.

"I'm tired." Watch for yawns, whines, and eye rubs that signal fatigue before your baby launches into an all-out cry. Try rocking or nursing him to sleep.

"Hold me." If you've checked all the possible causes and your baby is still fussing, he may simply crave the calming effect of being cuddled and rocked. Some babies will relax in a mechanical cradle or vibrating bouncy seat. Some like to be wrapped in a tight swaddle, and others just prefer being held. You can't spoil a baby at this age by holding him "too much."

My 7 - Week Old

My 7 week old Justine hands is mostly open now and sooo ready to reach out to the world. Although she can't grab objects just yet, she can grasp things placed in her hands, she has a strong grip when I let her hold my finger into his hand. She even holds my hair and shirt so tight and won't let go so easily. Once she wraps her hands around something, like my hair I have to take her hands off my hair gently otherwise she would pull them and it hurts Im telling yah. She is also getting good at sleeping now, I just have to put her upstairs so that she can sleep straight and not fussing. She is a sensitive sleeper, everytime she hears noises she would startle and then she's up and start fussing. But if she had a good sleep, her mood is always happy and smiling. She is cooing now and follow your hand when you play buzzy buzzy bee at her. She also follows the rattle when you shake it in front of her and so aware of who's around her. As for my buckaroo, he is fond of Justine now and inviting her to play with him.Put toys on her side or in the swing and giggles when Justines hand touches his toes or skin. Yesterday, when he giggles when Justine's hand touched his foot, he kicked her on the head not intentionally it was just some reflexes from excitement.

I stumble this interesting explaination about why baby get a lip blister. I nurse Jake and Justine and they both got lip blisters. Until now Justines has blisters on her lip. I am not bothered though coz it's hurting her.

Q: Why do babies get lip blisters?

A: The way a baby sucks when she's feeding creates friction on her lips, which can cause blisters. Such blisters are more common in breastfed babies than in formula-fed babies, probably because nursing babies have to create suction with their mouths in a way that causes more rubbing, says pediatrician Joanne Cox of Children's Hospital Boston. "Parents don't need to do anything about lip blisters, which usually aren't painful," says Cox. "But if you're a nursing mother, you could try experimenting with different feeding positions." Lip blisters tend to show up among younger babies and are occasionally present at birth — evidence that the newborn was sucking on her fingers or toes in utero.

Diaper rash

As a new parent and mom I get worried every time my baby gets a rash. Jake didn't get diaper rash until he was almost 4 months when we started him on solid foods. Good thing he was a tough and good baby who don't complain that much. We used diaper rash cream "Balmex" to reduced the redness. Eventually the rashes gone but it come back every time we introduced new food that has allergens and if we can't changed his dirty diaper right away. Now he is not getting any diaper rash but he gets eczema on winter and summer. Some information i got from babycenter about diaper rash that you might find interesting.

What does diaper rash look like?
Diaper rash doesn't always look the same. But if your baby's diaper area looks irritated and red, chances are he has it. His skin may also be a little puffy and warm when you touch it.

Diaper rash may be very mild — a few prickly red spots in a small area — or quite extensive, with tender red bumps that spread to your baby's tummy and thighs. There's no need to panic, though: Dealing with diaper rash is part and parcel of baby care, especially in the first year or so of your baby's life.

How did my baby get diaper rash?
Diaper rash can be caused by anything from a new food to your baby's own urine. Here are the most likely culprits:

• Wetness. Even the most absorbent diaper leaves some moisture on your baby's delicate skin. And when your baby's urine mixes with bacteria from his stool, it breaks down and forms ammonia, which can be very harsh.

Although a baby left in a dirty diaper for too long is more likely to develop diaper rash, any baby with sensitive skin can get a rash, even if his parents are diligent diaper changers.

• Chafing or chemical sensitivity. Your baby's diaper rash may be the result of his diaper rubbing against his skin, especially if he's particularly sensitive to chemicals like the fragrances in a disposable diaper or the detergents used to wash a cloth diaper. It could also be that a lotion or powder you're using for diaper duty doesn't agree with your baby's delicate skin.

• New foods. It's common for babies to get diaper rash when they start eating solid foods or are introduced to a new food. Any new food changes the composition of the stool, and it might increase your baby's bowel movements as well. If you're breastfeeding, your baby's skin could even be reacting to something you're eating.

• Infection. The diaper area is warm and moist — just the way bacteria and yeast like it. So it's easy for a bacterial or yeast infection to flourish there and cause a rash, especially in the cracks and folds of your baby's skin.

In addition, babies on antibiotics (or whose breastfeeding mothers are on antibiotics) sometimes get yeast infections because antibiotics reduce the number of healthy bacteria that help keep yeast in check as well as the harmful bacteria they're meant to destroy. Antibiotics can also cause diarrhea, which can contribute to diaper rash.

Thrush is a type of oral yeast infection. Some babies with thrush develop a yeast infection in their diaper area too.

Times really so flies so quick. My Justine is 5 week-old last monday. She can hold her neck a little and start scooting when we put her on her tummy. She even follows my hand if I play buzzy bee at her and smiles if shes in a good mood. She likes looking at our mouth when we talk and so fascinated with the motion or our hair.
