One of my New Year's resolutions for 2011 is to cook more. Well, my husband was really excited about that because he has a huge sweet tooth and part of that resolution is to make more desserts at home too. So I thought that I would make his dessert dreams come true and make him some serious homemade candy and desserts for Valentine's Day this year. We already have a reservation at one of my favorite Italian restaurants for dinner that night and I'm going to make sure that I have my homemade desserts ready for us to eat when I get home from the dinner.

I went looking online to see what I could as far as recipes go for what I could fix for us. When I was online I came across the website get.wildblue.com and after I looked through it a little bit, I decided to change over our home internet service to the provider.

I'm making some DIY Valentine's Day chocolates, including truffles and some bark. I think I may also make some caramel turtles too.

I love this time of the year despite all the extra stress that I'm under around the time. Both of my kids are away at college so I get kind of a break when they're away from laundry and as much cooking and stuff like that. Even though I would love for them to be around year-round at home. So before my kids came home for the holidays, I tried to plan out as much stuff as I could.

I was online trying to figure out what kind of Christmas cookies I was going to cook for our upcoming annual Christmas party, when I came across some information about some wireless internet packages. I read it and after I went over it some more, clicked HERE to sign up for one of the packages.

I found a really great recipe for gingersnap cookies that I made to greet my kids when they got home from their college exams for the holidays. They really loved them and I think I might start making them every Christmastime from now on.

Since I started collecting a whole lot of jewelry lately, I've just been keeping most of it in shoeboxes organized by what type of jewelry, like bracelets, necklaces, rings, etc. I do have a jewelry box but it stopped holding my jewelry collection a long time ago. I go through phases of when I'll buy certain things and I guess that right now it's just my jewelry phase. But now that I've spent so much time and money in my collection, I think that I should do something and storing it in a better way.

I love to do crafts for fun and to pass the time. So when I was off work for a few days and still in a food coma from my mom's huge Thanksgiving lunch, I decided to put together my annual gingerbread house.

I've made several really simple ones before, but I decided to really go all out this year and make my dream house in gingerbread! That required going online and finding some less than basic plans. It took a lot of planning to make my DIY gingerbread house. It even has turrets! It certainly isn't easy getting triplets to do anything and that especially goes for getting them to behave out in public. Because they're all the same age, I think that they're definitely more temperamental because of it. But I agreed to take the triplets to the fair so my wife could have a night off to go out to eat with her friends at a nice restaurant.

There's always one weekend every fall that I like to have my neice and nephew over to my house and we work on baking a lot of nice treats and doing some general Halloween stuff.

I guess they would consider me the cool aunt, probably because I let them do some things that their parents won't, let eating a little too much candy and staying up a little later than they probably should. But, I think that they have fun doing it and there really isn't any harm in it. So I did a lot of planning for our fun Halloween day by looking up some recipes with my clear 4g. I ended up finding a whole lot of great stuff.

I got some good candy recipes and we made some special Halloween candy bark. The thing that I love about making bark is that itÕs just so easy to do because you just melt down the base chocolate and throw a bunch of stuff on top of it for pure deliciousness. Whenever I am considering a new destination for a vacation, I make sure to do everything I can to research it. One of the best ways to research potential vacations is by looking at traveler reviews. There are so many opinions a person can have on anything in a vacation, ranging from the hotel to car rental companies. Before I put money towards any part of a vacation, I make sure to hear what other people say.

There are plenty of places to find traveler reviews online. First, I like to research what people say about general locations. Sometimes I find various places that I would have never thought about, like beaches in California or Florida because of what travelers have said. One vacation I had was amazing. I found out about these gorgeous beaches in Malibu where all of the celebrities stayed. My Daughter's First Computer

Things sure are different for kids today than they were when I was a child! When I got home from school all those years ago, I would quickly do my homework at the kitchen table then run outside to play. In today’s times, it’s quite different. My daughter is in the sixth grade and is more computer savvy than a lot of adults I know. She was doing the majority of her homework at our desktop computer in the family room. This year, her homework is more involved and she needs to do a lot more research so we finally bought her a laptop of her own. We connected a wireless router so she has access to our hughes net internet service and then set down the ground rules for surfing hughesnet in alabama. She only uses a browser that filters out anything that might be damaging for a child to see and she knows which sites she is and is not allowed to visit. As she gets older, we will give her more freedom. This isn’t because we don’t trust her; we just realize that she doesn’t have the maturity yet to always select the best things for her. It’s a win-win situation for our family since it lets her enjoy and learn from a seemingly endless world of information and we get to continue to protect our little girl without being overbearing parents.
