A Good Conversation

Contribution by Stevie Kirby

My best friend and I met during a trip to a business conference. It was like love at first sight, only it was like a lot instead of love. We were able to have a great conversation and from there, everything took off. We learned that we enjoyed the same subjects in school and that we could have long conversations about those subjects and what they meant to us in our education. In turn, we were able to learn more about the subjects because we each paid attention during certain days of class. Sharing knowledge was what brought us together.

Using knowledge is another thing entirely. We were able to go outdoors and discuss things, have coffee and discuss things, eat dinner and discuss things, and more. While we do things once in awhile that involve activity, we usually enjoy doing those things that allow us to have a conversation while we're doing them. We enjoy getting to discuss things that other people might not enjoy talking about or even enjoy at all. Our common areas of study are what truly make the conversation lovely. A good conversation is worth all the world to me.

Before heading out for an evening of conversation, I set my home security alarm from Allhomesecurity.com to protect my family and possessions. This makes it much easier to have a good conversation.

Best Friends Forever

Thanks for the guest post by Jo Levy

I met my best friend when I was in college. We weren't roommates, just passing acquaintances in a literature class we both enjoyed. Spending hours of time reading poetry together and discussing major works ofliterature, a friendship grew over the years. Because our hometowns were adjacent, even after college we were able to continue our friendship.

We still sometimes read books and articles and enjoy discussing them much like we did when we were much younger, but now we have children and families, and our common interests have expanded to include activities that involve them too. We set our ALL HOME SECURITY systems and talked off to go hiking, bicycling, watch movies together, and vacation on trips. The list of things we enjoy together seems never ending.

More than just sharing activities and good times, we both have the same kind of temperament that allows us to overlook each others' shortcomings, a basis for personal communication that is comfort to each of us in times of stress and sorrow. We have sometimes even discussed how lucky we are to have found such a soul mate in each other, and wonder what our lives would have been like without that luck. We both agree that it isn't something we would like to think about for too long as we count our friendship a forever blessing.

The Needed Break!

Thanks for the article from Angelo White

The time has come for a much needed break! The feeling came like the rush a sky diver gets when jumping out of a plane. Many ideas had came to mind like going to a theme park, taking a plane trip to another area, and then the idea came. Going camping would be the grand scheme of things. The idea alone generated a peace-of-mind long lost. What are some of the activities that can be done while camping? [While thinking]...how about having a nice cookout three times a day for each day going camping. This was truly going to be the best camping trip yet!

The campground site had to be chosen first. It was necessary to find out in advance if the campground would even allow cookouts. In finding a campground that would allow us to have a cookout, we began the initial planning for the cookout itself. Even though we were only going to be gone for four days. It was best to plan for the cookout since this would be the relief-bringer. As far as the camping materials like the sleeping bag, hygiene, clothing, footwear,... were all part of the plan. Looking forward to steak, and eggs while going camping; We followed security tips, and advice to set your home security alarm from HOMEALARMEXPERT.com prior to going camping, and headed out for the road!

Safety is great when hiking

Thanks for the post, Arthur Lawrence

The sport of hiking is one that has been my favorite since I was a small child. Because I have lived in Alaska for most of my life I have been exposed to the wilderness and nature more then a great deal of other people. When the majority of the state you live in is covered in vast stretches of wilderness, you tend to explore quite a bit. Camping and hiking were two things that I always found enjoyable. Nowadays I simply set my home security system and head out for however long I wish, not worried at all about my home because of the 7 adt monitoring centers.

I particularly enjoy going to Eagle River with my friends and family because there are a great many lovely places there to set up a hiking area, camp, and have lots of fun. There are many other places in Anchorage such as the bluffs by the airport, and countless trails and hidden places of beauty within the city limits. There are so many that there is no need to conserve them or protect them. They are also so vast that there is no chance of modern building being put on them.

Safety is the most important factor when going hiking in the wild. Bears and moose are just two things that are dangerous. There are also many plants and falls that can hurt people. But, be safe and you will not have to worry!

Safe and Secure While I Am at The Store

Guest post of the week by Robby Sykes

I feel secure knowing that my family's belongings are safe with adt security in New Jersey , then I set my home security alarm. I can leave with the family for a full day of shopping. It is a great chance to spend some quality time together while picking up some favorites for later treats. I want the best for my family.

When my family goes grocery shopping, it really is a full day excursion. We like to buy local fruits and vegetables from growers at farmer's market around the area. You just cannot beat that homegrown taste! When we buy our groceries, we are out all day. Sometimes we stop at local produce growers where we can take hours to pick fresh berries and ripe fruits straight off the tree.

Besides frequenting the local growers, I take my family to the supermarket and pick up goods from the deli and baked goods sections. I look forward to smelling the hearty scents coming from the freshly baked breads and the soft, sweet fragrance of warm donuts. As a special treat, my family picks out a favorite donut or treat before leaving the store. Even the smallest things like a family trip to the grocery store can leave you with the warm fuzzies inside.

It's Almost Time For Kickoff!

Written by Sherri Hicks

Wow! I can't believe my baby son's senior football season is about ready to begin. I am so excited about their first game of the season in two weeks. After setting the home security on my home, I drove over to the football field to watch him practice. When I got there I noticed all the improvements that had been made toover the field. The old ticket booth had been torn down and a new booth as well as a new press box had been built. They were also going to install air conditioning in the football locker room. I love watching my son play sports. He is a defensive lineman and also the kicker for his team. Although he says he is the worst kicker ever, last year he successfully completed the first two point conversion in five years. By the time I finished looking around the team had finished doing the Oklahoma practice drill and was starting to run sprints. I have to admit my son is not the fastest player on the team but what he lacks in speed he makes up for in strength and intelligence. How many defensive players can boast of a touch down? He made one last year when the other team fumbled. I think he's the smartest player on the team. I love fall and football season!

My little home town restaruant

Posted by Dorian Compton

My favorite restaurant to eat dinner at is in my small home town about five miles from my home so we set our alarm from www.AllHomeSecurity.com and go often. It is located in a very small downtown area. The wait staff are like sisters and brothers to me, very friendly and outgoing. The food is simply amazing. Its down to earth home cooking. They have the best insane menu I have ever seen. The deals you get at this tiny well known restaurant is outstanding. I often order the steak dinner for $7.99 which includes the steak, choice of potato and either a vegetable or soup of the day also accompanied by a dinner roll with dessert and coffee included. It is very cozy located in the mist of a wooded area giving you the feeling of being in a cabin like surrounding. I would highly recommend this very awesome restaurant. the bar is small and has a few televisions in it and the drinks are huge and very inexpensive. I try to make it out to this restaurant at least once a week. They also have a wonderful buffet on holidays and Sundays.

The Big City

Thanks to guest blogger Kimberly Keistle for the post.

Moving from the small town of Lafayette to the big city of Nashville was such a change! We didn't even have stop lights in the town I was coming from! But, it was time to get out of the country and see what the city life could offer me. So the preparations for my big move were underway.

There were so many things to do, it was so overwhelming! Finding a moving company was the easiest part of it all. I found a really great company that was insured, and would also box all of my larger things! That took so much work out of it for me.

Among the other things I had to do before my move was transferring my cable service. There was a transfer fee for that. I also had to have gas hooked up as well as electricity. Both of those came with deposits. Talk about making for an expensive move!

I also decided that, since this is such a big city I should have some type of alarm devices in my new home, so I signed up for home security service with a well known company. I can say that, I am happy in my new home. Most of all, I am glad the move is over!

Parent Organizations

Thanks to Nancy Thomas for the guest post.

As a parent, I was very concerned about safety when I first moved into a neighborhood. The crime rate was relatively low in my community, however, I had heard one too many news stories that concerned me. So, I decided to be proactive and start an organization for other concerned parents in the neighborhood. Together, we were able to amp up security so much, that it feels like our entire neighborhood has a ADT Securityhome security alarm system written on it.

Our organization consists of a variety of procedures. Here I will detail some of those procedures. One of our procedures is to initiate massive text to other parents in the neighborhood, if we see something that concerns us. For example, if there is someone that appears shady or like he or she does not belong in our neighborhood, we will issue a mass text. Or, maybe a child has fallen off of his or her bike. In that case, one parent that drives by may choose to help the child, but have no idea who his or her parents are. Maybe the child is too scared or hurt to even speak to the parent that is helping the situation. In this case, the parent can send out a mass text to see who the child's parent is. This system has helped our neighborhood feel much more supportive and secure. I highly recommend it!

Our First Disney Vacation

Several years back, my Wife and I decided to take our three children down to Orlando Florida for their first trip to Walt Disney World. We saved the money, I had the Vacation Time from work and nothing was holding us back so we decided to surprise the kids by not telling them that we were going.

After my Wife and I secretly packed the needed clothes while the kids were at school, I snuck out to load everything into the trunk of our car while they were asleep. Saturday morning came and we woke the children early in the morning. With sleep still in their eyes, they clumsily got dressed and asked what was going on as my Wife ushered them all out of the door. I set our ADT home security system and quickly ran out the door just as I heard the familiar chirp of it arming itself.

As I approached the car, I could hear my Wife explaining to them that we were going to the festival at the local beach which was about an hour away and they could sleep a little more before we got there. All three of them were fast asleep again before we were out of our neighborhood. I looked at my Wife and without a word being said, we realized that we pulled the surprise off and they would awake with the shock of their lives.

They slept as solidly as ever during our four hour drive to Orlando. We arrived in Orlando around 9 AM and we started noticing the slow awaking of one of them. He seemed a bit confused and bewildered by where he was and immediately started asking questions. My Wife and I told him to get some more rest but he simply refused.

As we passed a highway billboard that announced where we were, he started screaming “We’re going to Disney!” with all his might. Needless to say those few words immediately woke-up the other two kids and my Wife and I were soon feeling the hugs from all three around our necks from the backseat.
