Guest post of the week by Fletcher Peterson
Oh my. What can I say about going to the Northern District Fair in Cadillac, Michigan. Some years it is fun and some years I wish I would have stayed at home.
When I decide to go to the fair, I'll go with my immediate family members. But it is expensive to get in. Just to walk through the main gate it is $6 a person. That is a lot of money, especially for a single mother on disability. Sometimes it is worth it.
Mainly, after paying our gate dues, we will walk straight to the back where all the 4-H animals are. Ever since my children were little buggers, they have enjoyed the animals. The animals do tend to stink, but they are so cute and adorable looking. All the 4-H kids and their families sure do take good care of those animals.
Once in awhile we will go on the ferris wheel. But not often. It's because there is a $20 charge for an all day pass to get on a ride. After paying the $6 gate entrance fee, paying a ride fee seems a bit ridiculous to me. If I was a diehard attraction rider, then I wouldn't mind. But I am getting too old to be riding rides all day long just to be motion sick at the end of the day.
But I am so lucky and happy when I get home since I watch satellite tv from http://www.directstartv.com/directv_current_offer.html when we are done at the fair.
